Qdos Entertainment is preferred bidder on Watford Colosseum

HQ Theatres, the theatre division of Qdos Entertainment, is now the preferred bidder on the 1,400 seated Watford Colosseum for a ten year lease; which would push the total number of venues to eight theatres.

Watford Borough Council has awarded ‘preferred bidder status’ to HQ Theatres, who is most likely to considerably increase the live entertainment offering in the venue, which has been limited in the last five years when ran by the council.

Qdos Entertainment chairman Nick Thomas said “Following a major refurbishment, it is the enhanced programming that will define Watford Colosseum as a quality venue. The offer will be varied, balanced and have broad appeal. It will be focused on music and comedy, with the best attractions commensurate to the venue’s capacity.

“We are committed to maintaining and developing the existing relationship with BBC Concert Orchestra and to ensuring the enhancement of the acoustic qualities of the main auditorium. Our aim is to ensure that Watford Colosseum’s reputation for excellence is re-established both locally and nationally.”
