Chico enters another dimension as he flies into Hull on his 3D pantomime magic carpet

13 April 2010

This year’s pantomime in Hull will enter another dimension as one of the country’s most familiar household names, Chico, leads the cast of this year’s spectacular and magical pantomime adventure, Aladdin, at the Hull New Theatre.

Featuring an array of ground-breaking 3D special effects Aladdin also has all of the traditional elements of pantomime that you expect. Wearing 3D glasses at certain points throughout the show the audience can rub the magic lamp as it appears in front of their nose, summon the magical 3D Genie from his lamp and join Aladdin on a superb magic carpet ride!

Before appearing in Hull, Chico is all set to release his latest record, a play on It's Chico Time; retitled It's England Time, an unofficial football anthem which he hopes could spur England on to World Cup glory!

Ever since Chico burst into the homes of the nation with his cheeky dance moves and vocal talents on The X Factor, his popularity has grown and he has established himself as a prominent entertainer. Following The X Factor it came as no surprise when Chico’s first single, Chico Time, knocked Madonna off the top of the charts! Since then he has been in demand for numerous TV appearances including Loose Women, Toonattick, The Real Hustle and Saturday Night Takeaway. He also came third in the ITV2 mile -high reality show Celeb Air, has been the face of Nickelodeons’ anti-bullying campaign and even notched up a blind date with Dame Edna Everage!

“We are delighted that Chico will be appearing in the pantomime at Hull and thrilled that he will lead the cast of Aladdin at the New Theatre. Chico always throws himself so enthusiastically into his pantomime roles and makes a cheeky and very dashing Aladdin,” says Jonathan Kiley, Executive Producer of the show.

Aladdin is staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s largest pantomime producer, which will stage 22 productions throughout the UK this Christmas.

Aladdin runs from Thursday 9 December 2010 to Sunday 9 January 2011. Tickets can be booked on 01482 226655 or online at www.hullcc.gov.uk/hullnewtheatre.
